It is with pride and gratitude that we look back on the journey we began with our foundation Blue Defenders Bonaire. What started as a dream to protect the ocean and connect people with marine life has grown into an initiative of which we are very proud.

As of October 10, 2026, we are passing the baton to Johan, Baukje, and their team. We have every confidence that they will continue and further grow the work on Bonaire with the same passion and dedication.

For us a new chapter is beginning. Under the name Blue Defenders Norway, we will continue our mission in Norway. Here, we will remain committed to protecting the marine ecosystem, telling stories, and raising awareness—just as we have done on Bonaire.

In Norway, we will collaborate with organizations such as the Norwegian Orca Survey, which will allow us to further strengthen our focus on conservation and research.

We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey on Bonaire—your support, trust, and commitment have made all of this possible.
